Hoover Dam was originally known as Boulder Dam and is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. The dam is located between the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada. It was completed in 1936 and was the world’s largest electric power generating station at that time, also the world's largest concrete structure.
