The Vermont Monument is located in Gettysburg. The monument has a statue of Brigadier General George Stannard at the top. The General commanded the Second Vermont Brigade at Gettysburg. He lost his right arm in the fighting around Petersburg and the statue portrays him as he appeared after he suffered the wounds in the war. The mountain in the background looks beautiful with the vegetation on it.
