The monument is located at the Gettysburg National Military Park in Vermont. The monument gets its title form the first government historian of the Gettysburg battlefield, John B. Bachelder. The trees grow within a defined area because of a stone fence that borders the small pasture. The Union troops were positioned behind the stone wall during the battle. The monument is historical and picturesque too.
