This great maple once stood in the picnic grounds of Sharon Woods Metropolitan Park, Near Columbus, OH. There is now a restroom building standing on the spot from which the picture was made. I took this in the fall of 1974, and I looked at it every fall as long as the tree stood. It never looked as good as it did then.

Perhaps this was an indication of ill health, because a storm in the spring of 1990 blew it over.
