The Foothills Parkway is a scenic road running north from Cosby TN to Interstate 40. It runs parallel to the western boundary of Smoky Mountains National Park. The road is mostly along a ridge top, and there are outstanding views at many points, in both directions. This is looking eastward from one of the overlooks, and the main range of the Smokies is in the distance.

The road seems to be off the beaten path, and is little used. It is worth seeking out, however, in any season, and especially during fall color (mid to late October).
