An expansion of dazzling white gypsum sands in south-central New Mexico, U.S. The monument is located in the Tularosa Basin, between Alamogordo (northeast) and Las Cruces (southwest).Founded in1933, it covers 225 square miles (583 square km).A little plant life, the animals such as mice and lizards are light-hued, blending with the sand are noticable.The western side forms San Andres National Wildlife Refuge. White Sands range of Missile encircles the monument, and Holloman Air Force Base lies to the east makes this place surrounding look as if a lovely green shaded colored picture is surrounded by white border.
