The Mushroom Rock State Park in Ellsworth County, are part of the Dakota Sandstone Formation of the region called Smokey Hill in central Kansas. The first impression one gets on observing these rocks is that they can’t be real. But in fact it is real and they do resemble mushrooms. It’s such a wonderful piece of artistry from nature with an oval rock balanced on a straight one. The fact that it lays in lush green grass makes it even more joyful treat.
